In memory of the late Dr. Sabina Avdagic, the SASE Network E (Comparative
Capitalisms) is pleased to announce the establishment of the Sabina Avdagic Early
Career Scholar Prize for Best Paper in Comparative Capitalism.

The award recognizes outstanding work by an early-career researcher in the field of
comparative political economy, reflecting Dr. Avdagic’s deep commitment to
supporting and mentoring early-career scholars. It acknowledges her extensive
contributions to understanding labor market and welfare state institutions, and the
broader political economy from a comparative perspective.

Dr. Avdagic, a Reader in Political Economy at the University of Sussex, was an
inspiring figure in the field of comparative political economy, and her scholarly legacy
and commitment to the discipline continues to shape the network. Her commitment
to rigorous, innovative research and her role as a mentor has left a lasting impact on
SASE and the study of comparative capitalisms.
