Magali Robelet is Associate Professor in sociology at Lyon 2 University and research fellow at the Max Weber Center (CNRS) in Lyon. She is a graduate of École normale supérieure de Cachan and of IEP Paris. Her research topics deal with the institutional and organizational transformations of the health and social politics in France. Her PhD topic was the politics of health care quality in France (2002).
The development of medical guidelines or quality management in hospitals or in the disability sector, the renewal of bureaucratic control from public authorities upon health and social organizations are one of the recent subjects she works on. She is currently working on the comparison of the use of cost-effectiveness analyses in health agencies in UK, France and Germany in collaboration with D. Benamouzig and P. Hassenteufel. She is also pursuing a research on the transformations of work and careers of the French “Public health and social welfare inspectors”, those civil servants responsible for the administrative and financial control of health and social organizations such as hospitals, nursing homes or structures for disable people.
