Jorge Atria

Jorge Atria is assistant professor at the Department of Sociology, Diego Portales University, and associate researcher at Centre for Social Conflict and Cohesion Studies (COES). He holds a PhD from the Freie Universität Berlin where he investigated justifications for tax (non)compliance among the Chilean elite. His research interests include Economic Sociology, Fiscal Sociology, and Cultural Sociology with focus on inequality, taxation, elites, and social structure. He is the author of several works on the moral and political economies of taxation and inequality, including the co-edited volume Rethinking Taxation in Latin America: Reform and Challenges in Times of Uncertainty” (Palgrave, 2018)
