Gwenola Le Naour

Gwenola Le Naour is Associate Professor in political science at Sciences Po Lyon and Research Fellow at Triangle (CNRS- UMR 5206). She received her PhD from Aix-Marseille University (2005) before joining Sciences Po Lyon in 2006.

Her research was initially on conflicts and cooperations in drug policy at a local level. Her work currently deals with the chemical pollutions and the mobilizations against them in the South of Lyon from the late-1950’s to date. She examines the involvement of local people (workers, inhabitants) and municipalities in the risk management policies. Her current research demonstrates that the silence and the demobilization of the inhabitants and the workers (from 1980s) result from a long process producing at the same time knowledge and ignorance on the dangers of the chemical industries. Her theoretical frame involves public policy analysis, sociological analysis of the collective action, and science studies.
