Gregory Schwartz
His research interests are in sociology of organizations, occupations and work, and economic sociology. He has focussed his work on Russia and the post-socialist experiences of work and organizational change, examining how hierarchies, status, authority, and collaboration are (re)constituted through inter-subjective and collective symbolic mechanisms. He has used qualitative methods, ranging from extended case methodology to ethnography, and his main orientation has been towards emergent social processes and phenomena.
