Emmanuele Pavolini is Associate Professor of Economic Sociology at the University of Macerata (Italy). His research interests focus on the fields of comparative Welfare State analysis, also with a focus on Southern European Welfare States. He published on these topics in international journals such as Journal of European Social Policy, Current Sociology, South European Society and Politics and Comparative European Politics. In recent years he has co-edited books on Health Care reforms in Europe (with A.M. Guillén) (Palgrave), Long-term Care reforms in Europe (with C. Ranci) (Springer) and on the Italian Welfare State before and during the crisis (with U. Ascoli) (Policy Press). He is part of the editorial board of Stato e Mercato. He serves as expert to the European Commission in the European Social Policy Network (ESPN). He is a member of the ESPANet (European Network for Social Policy Analysis) board.
