Martin Krzywdzinski is head of the research group “Globalization, Work and Production” at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center and Principal Investigator at the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society. He holds a Ph.D. in political science from Free University Berlin (2007). He sits on the steering committee of the automobile research network GERPISA, the research advisory board of the Future of Work program of the MIT, and the steering committee of the Industrial and Labor Sociology section of the German Sociological Association. His field of interest is the sociology of work, covering such areas as production systems, work organization, technology, and employment relations, as well as the development of multinational corporations and global value chains. His recent research projects focus on digitalization of work and value chains. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and has authored or coauthored books on the globalization of work. His recent publications include New Worlds of Work (together with Ulrich Jürgens) and Consent and Control in the Authoritarian Workplace (both published by OUP).
