Justin Leroy
Justin Leroy is assistant professor of history at Duke University. He is a scholar of Atlantic and U.S. slavery, with particular interest in histories emancipation, Black political thought, and capitalism. He was previously assistant professor of history at the University of California, Davis and postdoctoral fellow in Global American Studies at Harvard University. Leroy is author of The Lowest Freedom: Slave Emancipation, Racial Capitalism, and the Black Radical Tradition, forthcoming from Columbia University Press, and co-editor of Histories of Racial Capitalism.
