Heidelberg University Full Professorship in Empirical Macro Sociology


The Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at Heidelberg University invites applications for a Full Professorship (W3) in empirical macro sociology, starting in October 2020.

Position remit

The successful candidate is expected to carry out empirical research in the area of macrosociology. We are looking for an internationally renowned scientist with a strong research profile in comparative sociology. Teaching in the department’s undergraduate and graduate programme is required, in compliance with the Baden-Württemberg “Lehrverpflichtungsverordnung” (regulation on teaching responsibilities). Teaching in English is possible.

Requirements

In accordance with Section 51 Landeshochschulgesetz Baden-Württemberg (the Baden-Württemberg State Higher Education Act), the successful candidate is expected to have an excellent Ph.D. in Economics or a related field, good pedagogical skills, and publications in international, peer-reviewed journals in the relevant field.
