Announcing the 2026 SASE Presidential and Executive Council Election Results

During the recent Executive Council elections, SASE members selected new representatives who will help guide the Society’s activities and strategic direction in the years ahead.

We extend our warm thanks and appreciation to our outgoing Executive Council members for their dedicated service to the Society: Past-President Ginny Doellgast, Lucio Baccaro, Liz Gorman, Andrea Mennicken, Kim Pernell, and Liz Thurbon. Through their leadership, expertise, and commitment, they have made important contributions to SASE’s continued growth and success.

We warmly congratulate Dorothee Bohle on her election as SASE’s incoming President-Elect. 

We are pleased to welcome newly elected Executive Council members Basak Kus, Fulya Apaydin, and Victor Tan Chen. 

Congratulations also to Antonio Botelho, Elsa Clara Massoc, and Leonard Seabrooke on their re-election to the Executive Council. We are grateful for their continued service and willingness to support the Society in the years ahead.

Finally, we would like to thank all candidates who stood for election. The strength of SASE depends on the engagement of its members. 

We look forward to working with both new and returning Council members as SASE continues to advance socio-economic research and strengthen its global scholarly community.
